POINTS RACE SEVEN UP NEXT FOR DELTA SPEEDWAY IN STOCKTON

STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (August 13, 2024) – Delta Speedway presented by Valley Strong Credit Union races into the second half of the 2024 Micro Sprint season in Stockton Saturday night with points race number seven on tap. The four regular divisions of Super 600, Non-Wing, Restricted, and Jr. Sprints will be competing for victories at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds 1/7th mile dirt track. Photo by Bob Messer

Spectator gates open at 5pm on Saturday.  General Admission tickets are just $10 for adults while juniors ages 6-12, seniors, and military are $5, and kids 5 & under are FREE! Pit passes are $25.

Fans who cannot attend the action in person can view flag-to-flag coverage on Fast Four Media, the speedway’s 2024 Pay-Per-View partner. Pit gates open at noon with the driver’s meeting at 4:30pm. Hot laps and qualifying will follow.

Madera’s Logan Trevino remains atop the winged Super 600 standings with a scant five-point advantage. Trevino retained the points lead after finishing third on July 27. Jeffrey Pahule of Brentwood has two wins this season to rank second followed by Fresno’s Mattix and Raio Salmon in third and fourth. Isabel Barnes of Brentwood has three top-ten finishes and rounds out the top-five in the championship. The Winged Warriors of Delta Speedway race in a 30-lap feature on Saturday night.

Pahule has been the dominant force in the Non-Wing division with four wins and a 64-point lead. 2022 Non-Wing champion Nikko Panella of Stockton has one win and is second in the standings. 2013 Super 600 champion Dalton Hill of Madera Ranchos, Mattix Salmon, and 2011 Non-Wing champion Dan Mognaga of Valley Springs are the balance of the top-five wingless drivers heading into Saturday’s 30-lap feature.

Oakdale’s Hayden Stepps has visited victory lane three times in 2024 to lead the Restricted standings. Her advantage over Jackson Tardiff of Vacaville is 27-points. Tracy’s Levi Osborne is third. 2023 Jr. Sprints champion Briggs Davis of Manteca earned his first win in the class on July 27 to move up to fourth in the order with Dean Skrifvars of Castro Valley in fifth in the standings. A 25-lap main event is on tap.

A runner-up finish on July 27 in the Jr. Sprints main event has boosted Citrus Heights’ Haven Sherman into the points lead. Sherman leads Heston Stepps of Oakdale by 19 markers. Easton Wright and Lucas Fenn are both in the hunt as well, each looking for their first wins of the season. David Anderson of Clayton has one victory this year and ranks fifth. Delta Speedway’s youngest drivers will battle for 20-laps this weekend!
